Graham Pryor's "Cereburus: A World Gone to the Dogs," invites readers into a captivating world here canines not only speak but also grapple with profound moral dilemmas. At the heart of this imaginative tale is Garth, a mastiff who emerges from the confines of an animal research laboratory into a world where the aliens called Grey Men bestow intelligence onto the many breeds- but it comes with a price.I kept thinking about the similes between "Animal Farm" by George Orwell as the personalities of the canines emerge over time.Pryor masterfully weaves together elements of science fiction and fantasy with humanlike emotions to create a story that's thought provoking and enchanting.I thoroughly enjoyed Garth's journey from captivity to freedom . The canines mission to 'unmake' humanity sets the stage for a book unlike anything out there.Accompanying Garth on his quest are a vibrant cast of canine companions, each with their own personalities and quirks.Through its engaging characters the novel made me more aware of the bond between humans and canines. Cereburus was a wild sci-fi ride-recommend highly.
